Cats love these

I should have known I made a mistake buying the $50 cat scratching post and the cats only needed a box. I don't even know what made me buy those cardboard scratching posts in the first place, but my cats don't want anything else (other than my expensive dining room chairs, I bet we're working on that). Maybe I should give a good review on an expensive scratching post that cats don't use, it holds up well. The cardboard pads hold up very well considering. I only bought them twice last year for two cats and I don't think I've had to throw another one away. It's great value for money and I can afford to have one or two in each room which is easy on my furniture. They "shed" a bit, but overall not bad. Most people need to vacuum at least once a week anyway so it really isn't a big deal to vacuum up a few tiny bits of cardboard every now and then and for the money saved it's well worth it.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other alternatives
