This is my second product review and this shoe deserves it. I bought the dark blue ones before my trip to New Zealand in 2019. I've walked for hours on the sharp lava rock on Rangitoto, a volcanic island in Auckland, and worn them on many 25-mile hikes around the South Island. I've run in it in the rain, down streams, across pastures, sliding on boulders, on hot asphalt and in kayaks. When it came time for a nice dinner on the town, these shoes looked out of place with jeans and a blazer. Upon returning home to Hawaii, I found that all of the other shoes felt heavy and clunky to me. So when I wasn't wearing our state shoes, aka Da Slippah, I was wearing them: on our dense red earth, on my 5-acre "farm," on many of our 125 O'ahu beaches, and on bike rides. . with pedals grinding soles for breakfast. This original New Zealand pair is still in service, only slightly worn. But due to the vagaries of fashion and the supply chain, I had to purchase a second pair to ensure I had a spare pair. What's so great about them? Keywords: - Comfortable AF - Lightweight - Versatile (for outdoor or city wear) - Stretchy (no wear and tear given the abuse I've put them through is stunning) - Water resistant - Easy to clean (I toss them in the washing machine) - Can Pack (They Flatten) - Price Should you buy your own pair even if you don't plan on walking the sharp lava? Yes, yes you should.
