Review on Lamplight 110 Chamber Oil Lamp by Karla Garcia

Simple Oil Lamp: Home Decor Supplies

For $13 with a small change, this lamp is good and serviceable. It came to me whole and well packaged. The quality is not at the highest level, but the lamp was cheap here too. The chimney is glass, quite thin. I have to be careful not to break it. The metal parts are a bit flimsy and even rusty at the base where it attaches to the glass oil chamber. The chimney is tilted over the glass part, so everything looks a bit crooked. Although it has a handle, I wouldn't recommend walking around with it much. I intend to keep it in one place. I think with a little care the lamp can be reliable for emergency lighting but also for entertainment. Mine is currently lit and has been burning for about 6 hours now. I use Medallion Clear lamp oil. It smells in the bottle but does not smell when burning. In my house, the lamp does not smell. I highly recommend this oil for oil lamps like these. Stay away from paraffin oils. They are not suitable for this type of lamp. Kerosene should also be avoided if burned indoors. In general, this lamp should last a while if stored or kept in a safe place from damage. Everything about this lamp works and works well, even if it lacks quality. If you're looking for an inexpensive emergency oil lamp, this should work. I do not regret the purchase. Update 12/01/18: One star off for the quality. Also because I found a better and cheaper oil lamp at Wally World that is very similar to this one but without the handle. One from Wally World is better built with stronger metal components and is only $7.50. Best offer far and wide.
