Review on Enhance Communication: Home Intuition Amplified Corded πŸ“ž Desk Telephone with Large Buttons and Extra Loud Ringer by Mike Cody

Not as useful as expected or hoped; Not as advertised

I bought this phone for my 86 year old mother who needs hearing aids for daily activities like face to face conversations and phone calls. She has an older, similar version of this phone provided by AT&T a few years ago. This old phone is worn out so I gave her this phone as a gift when I was visiting her recently. AT&T and local phone companies (located in Bakersfield, California) no longer ship or stock these phones. The Revain ad shows the volume rocker on the phone, but instead the volume rocker is on the base. No big deal, it just wasn't as easy to use as she had hoped. But the reason I'm giving it such a low score is that even at full volume on this new phone, she still can't hear anything. She also has a Jitterbug cell phone, but she also has trouble hearing it, so it's only used when her landline goes down or to signal that her kids are calling her. (No long-distance connection on their landline). I will update when I get more details like call satisfaction AND to make sure she was wearing hearing aids when using the phone. UPDATE: Mom used hearing aids, the volume control I mentioned above is for ringing. the only thing that is very well audible. The phone did not have a volume control although it can be seen in the photos and the description says it does. Therefore this product was not delivered as advertised. My mom lives in Bakersfield, I live in the San Diego area, she threw away the packaging so it looks like a waste of my money. Interesting point, I ordered it via my smartphone as my mum doesn't have internet service (or doesn't want it) so the product info was harder to see and check. I think I'll learn.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
