Maybe for a piece of paper, but definitely not for cardboard or photos
. It can cut a sheet of paper. However, when cutting thicker paper and card, it leaves little scraps where it doesn't cut through. I want to take photos for publication. Since I bought it to crop photos, it failed miserably. I just can't recommend it. However, if you buy it as a craft tool for an elementary school kid, it might work.
