Review on πŸ”§ Lil' Twister Tool for Country Schoolhouse by Karla Richter

The pros outweigh the cons

I love this little tool. I made my first twister quilt out of this and got the blue ribbon at our last quilt show! The ruler is durable and looks like it will last forever, and the little feet on the bottom grip better than any "grip" product on any ruler I've ever used. ft., the ruler is taller than regular rulers and it is difficult (or even impossible) to use a 28mm disc cutter with it. The reason for this is that the central spiral part of the cutting tool does not protrude beyond the ruler. I have two 45mm cutters and only one of them exposed the top of the cutting ruler! Luckily I pre-tested it on a piece of fabric before going to the store as I only had my 28mm cutter with me. As it turned out I had to replace it and bring a 45mm router. I wish they could make these rulers with the same grippy legs but flatter. Also, due to the height of the ruler (because of the legs), you need to make sure the blade stays straight (vertical). When cutting, the blade turns slightly inwards under the ruler. But I got used to it pretty quickly and everything worked out fine. Overall I really like this line. It's a simple tool that consistently delivers excellent results. Just don't expect the small size of this series to be compatible with a smaller slicer!
