I have no idea how I canned without it! It's hard for me to say that something has made my life infinitely easier, but this regulator has. It comes with 2 detachable rings that allow you to adjust the pressure. The lack of rings keeps the tin can at 5 psi. One ring holds it at 10 pounds and both rings hold it at 15 pounds. Before that I had to check the tin can every 2-3 minutes and constantly adjust the temperature to keep the pressure stable. Thanks to this I can apply pressure, lower the temperature and run longer before I have to test it. I actually bought two others to have as backups in case I lose one and can't do without it in my presto!
