So happy with this chair

FIRST REACTION: Very happy with this chair. There were no problems with gas formation. I bought a fabric seat because PVC is carcinogenic and costs more anyway. There was really no gas release. The toe ring doesn't move either...at least not yet. It came with a cardboard thing in the ring. The instruction doesn't ask you to remove it. but apparently i removed it. It prevents the two moving metal plates from falling out. I really don't understand why this ring should move when you take out the cardboard ring and tighten it. Of course, it can slip down over time, but it seems very reliable. I will update my review in the future if there are any issues. OH! and this chair is much more comfortable than my previous one. I bought a computer chair from Amazon for $50-60. looked good. felt good. I thought I might not like the lack of armrests on this one, but I don't. In fact, I never realized how uncomfortable they are for my shoulders. I am 5'4'. Very happy with this chair! So good that I didn't pay attention to the footboard issue. Even if the toe ring becomes a problem, it really isn't a big problem - and there are solutions anyway. All in all, I only gave it 4 stars. That's because I come from an upholsterer family and the upholstery here isn't great. The foam pad itself. OK. This is very convenient, but without noticeable changes it will last no more than 1.5 years. I think it might be 3 years before I have to replace it, half of which will be uncomfortable. There's also no sense of Dacron between the foam and the fabric, which is in good padding. The fabric isn't bad either, but if they're hand-sewn they didn't quite care to be nice and neat. Where the fabric is folded at the corners, all of the corners will look different. It's pretty sloppy and the fabric isn't sewn well enough (not tight enough - the fabric is a bit "baggy"). In fact, that's not a problem for Mel. Most people won't notice these details, especially considering how inferior furniture has become, people are used to inferior quality being the norm. To be honest, it is very easy to solve these problems. You are definitely not paying for the upholstery on this chair. You pay for the frame and mechanical components. It is definitely worth it! This upholstery job only costs about $15 including supplies and materials, and then maybe $8-$10 for the labor (maybe). So that seat adds up to about $22 of the entire purchase, which is generous. The $70 retail price for mechanical components isn't that bad. I'd say they're only around $64 but this is Revain, it's convenient, I LOVE that I can see reviews on everything before I buy it and the customer service is fantastic. That's really a great thing. I buy from Amazon based on the reviews. I hate buying something online and not being happy and then having to deal with a return. I only buy things with 4 stars and above. In other words, I'd rather pay $5 or $7 more knowing the item is verified and highly rated than risk something shady. my time is important The back is also very comfortable. I wonder how long it takes for the mesh to stretch and become uncomfortable(?). I thought the mesh on the back would be like metal instead of fabric. I don't think it will last very long but I plan on calling and asking for a new rear end before the warranty runs out!
