My study is in the basement and it's 10 degrees colder than the rest of the house. This makes your hands icy. The heater under my desk warms me well, but not my hands. This mat warms my fingers very well. I run it at low RPM, which is more than warm enough. I bought a neoprene mouse pad so I wouldn't cook my mouse to death and I hold my keyboard in front of the pad so that's not a problem. The benefit of this particular pad is that the cable is on the left side, away from the mouse. Before that, I had a flat pillow that had a cord on the right that got in the way. Another thing that makes this pillow better than the previous one is that it unfolds evenly with no wrinkles. I am very satisfied, there were no problems.
