Review on πŸ“± Pioneer CDIB100II iPhone Interface Adapter by Matt Ellis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product, ideal for portable audio and video

In general, the device is quite good. It's quite difficult to run all the cables, but the music sounds way better than these iTrips. I have a 96 chord coupe with a Pioneer DF 7700 deck and it installed exactly as advertised. I routed the wires down the center of the dash under the cup holders and placed the unit in the center console (after cutting a piece of plastic with a dremel to get the wires through). Then I routed the cable from the iPod back into the glove box along with the other cables. That way, since you're not using the iPod to control your music (although I wish you could), it won't get in the way and no exposed cables when not in use. All in all a pleasant product. I just wish it wasn't necessary. Most other manufacturers have a port on the front of the deck for direct iPod connection. Like I said, I just wish you could use the iPod to scroll through the music, as the deck can lag when scrolling fast.

Pros
  • Song/album titles, artist names and track lengths are stored from the connected iPod.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
