Review on SHARKMOUTH Hiking Hydration Backpack with 2.5L BPA Free Water Bladder - Ideal for Long Day Hikes, Day Trips, and Travel by Cre Soto

Great backpack for the price!

USEFUL: A few weeks ago I took a trip to Zion National Park and found that a 2.5 liter bladder held more than enough water to fill my 5ft 9in and 135 -Support pound body during multiple 5-7 hour hikes. in sunny weather in Utah. At the end of each day I had about 1 liter of water left and I was already well hydrated before hiking and using a backpack. Proper weight distribution also helped a lot with my back problems and made walking with water so much more comfortable. I've walked with a couple of bottles of water or heavy bottles slung over my shoulder many times in the past and I won't be going back. DESIGN: I wouldn't call this backpack small, but it is very compact. In practice, I've found that the insulated and medium-sized pockets have more than enough room to fit sandwiches and other snacks, my DSLR with lens attached, a tightly rolled windbreaker, baseball cap, hat, purse, and sunglasses (all together ) to be stowed in addition to a filled water bottle). As a precaution I kept all my sharp tools in the front pocket to avoid piercing the water bladder, like a knife/utility tool, as well as the rest of the essentials, like a first aid kit, headlamp, compass, fire starter, etc. The front one Chest strap has an emergency whistle built into the buckle, which I didn't notice at first, and it's definitely loud enough to alert someone in an emergency. The shoulder straps are also reversible, allowing you to route the hydration tube through any strap, and the tube clamp can also be moved to either side. I have looked at others here. It has plenty of storage space with 3 zipped compartments and the side pockets are great for an extra water bottle or other items. And if that says anything at all, I think the "Shark Mouth" marking on the packaging and the bladder itself looks pretty good, despite being less well known.

Pros
  • Ideal for long day hikes, the 17L volume meets the needs of essential gear, the breathable mesh back and tiered compartment features allow long hikers to enjoy the wonders of nature on day hikes in a more comfortable and methodical manner.
Cons
  • Low Maintainability
