My husband and I took the Ube Hydration Packs with us on our October trip west. Since Phoenix in 105 degree weather, water bags come in very handy. Starting the water takes a little getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, it works well. At first it smells like plastic. We continued our journey north to the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Arches, etc., ending in Denver. The further north we got, the cooler the weather became and the need for additional water decreased. We still carried backpacks, although we removed the water bladder during the hike and used it for other things like snacks, camera lenses, etc. They are very comfortable to wear even when full of water or other supplies. . If you don't like using your bladder, you can throw a water bottle in it. They are very well made and I'm sure they will last a lifetime. I highly recommend this product.
