I live in the area hardest hit by Hurricane Harvey in 2017. As a result, we had some issues to contend with. including mosquitoes, which tea tree oil is effective against. However, there was one that we didn't expect - THING WORM. Damn fungus has been thriving in our soil and our two dogs LOVE their mud baths. After speaking to our vet, she recommended tea tree oil in her shampoo and made a blend of tea tree oil with almond oil as a carrier, tea tree oil for treatment and some lavender oil to soothe after the spray. WORKED! We didn't have to extend her bathing schedule, which could lead to other skin problems. When the dogs are outside rolling in the mud we just scrape all the mud off their fur and (sparingly) spray and rub them in. Oil in their fur and skin. Because they are dogs. they don't like it much, but they don't have ringworm anymore. As an added bonus, if sprayed early in the day, they will be mosquito repellent for the next 24 hours! They get Proheart injections, but getting bitten is still a blow. Additionally, we use MUCH less of this oil than others we've used as mosquito repellents in the past. We make almond carrier, tea tree and citronella and spray them on ourselves and in the space where we communicate. It works very well! I will DEFINITELY use this tea tree oil again. It's very concentrated and at the same price as others that I know aren't as concentrated!
