I wanted a good photo album for old family photos that: a) I could write notes side by side so you don't have to take the photo out to read Cover of photo to find out , who's on itb) I didn't use glue to hold the picture in placec) Can still hold smaller photos without moving them with normal use. This fitted the bill well. I tested this by inserting some photos, shaking the album and banging it on the table. When shaken, the images did not move. Hitting the table caused some of the photos to move a bit, but there are dividers between the photos to keep them from moving too much. I agree as some of the photos are old and fragile and I don't want glue getting on them or using force that could damage them. The only drawback is the binding. It's like a book, not a three-ring binder, so you can't open the page all the way to lay it flat and write notes on it. It also makes it so that unless you're physically holding the album, looking at the images at the beginning and end means you're looking at them from an angle. A photo album with notes works best with a three-ring binding, where the pages open independently. All in all this is a great album for the price. I ordered a second one so I would have separate albums for each side of my family.
