This is actually a really cool thing to do if you're fishing from the bank or dock. I've thrown bait left and right and caught nothing. Place a castable wireless monitor on my line and cast in multiple spots only to find there were no fish. Good to know so you can find a new fishing spot! The range seems more than reasonable to me and fishes as far as I can cast my line. I would like information about depth, water temperature and whether the fish are at the bottom or in the upper water layers. I plan to use the wired version for my kayak. The wearable display is much nicer than using my phone. I don't want to drain my phone's battery and the wearable screen lasts way longer on a single charge than it even takes me to use it. If you're looking for a decent fish finder that can also be cast, look no further. The investment is worth it.
