I have bookshelves on both sides of my bed and sometimes it's difficult to find the phone in the dark (which shelf did I put it on and where on this particular shelf). I also like to listen to music while I sleep so my brain doesn't wander all night and keep me awake. However, it was difficult to hear music when there was a wall between me and the phone. So I ordered this item thinking I could mount it on the side of my bookshelf and keep my phone close at all times. That's great! This is the perfect size. I had ordered another one before and it was so narrow my phone couldn't fit in it. This is enough to accommodate almost any phone. It comes with removable 3M tape so I'm not worried about it ruining the side of my bookshelf.
