Although the seller mentioned that this controller should be used without a case, I find it unreasonable these days to require the customer to remove the case to use an accessory. Also, all phones have different thicknesses. If they claim to support different phones then why not use cases (with decent thickness). I defiantly tested this on my iPhone 11 Max Pro with a Nomad leather case. I LOVE IT. With 16.3 cm Nomad case. The seller told someone else that the maximum width is 16.5 cm. So if you have a case shorter than 6.5 inches, give it a try! General information on use without a case. The key point for me is that the levers are attached to the side bars that hold the phone to one side. This means that when I mount my phone (horizontal orientation) on the controller, the levers are always in the same place in relation to the left and right short sides of my phone. That means I'm always sure the levers can press my onscreen buttons. Compare this to other controllers (AK-66, Memo) that span the top and bottom long sides of my phone. My phone could slide left and right too much, and I had to play either adjusting the phone's position or the onscreen buttons before. With this controller you can set it up and go! I have nothing to fear. I know it will just work. The build quality is really good. The plastic is matte (same as mine, btw) and the thing doesn't rattle when you fiddle with the 4 triggers. I compare it to the AK-66, a competitor that's damn loud. For use in cases - shorter reach with levers. By using the case, my screen is slightly raised and my screen is now closer to the arms. The lever is pressed shorter (read: faster) towards my screen. The side clips are not included in my case. Fits very well. - All feel really solid and feel really good. Other comments - since I'm using a case, the lightning connector is too tall for the charging cable. That's a shortcoming that I'm happy to accept. I won't be able to use a fan, but I know I don't need to use a fan with a case, and I have no intention of doing so.
