In my opinion this is the best buy for Fire and Flood. The only additional thing I would buy is some sort of dry dehumidifier, especially if you are storing a hard drive or jewelry in the safe and may need to be replaced if you live in high humidity areas if you open the safe frequently during humid times. All pouches should only be used to store small items, not documents, and do not require additional pouches. I have previously purchased similar safes from SentrySafe and others. Also, with my 47 years of experience as a consumer buyer, I find it easy for both myself and the US government to separate bulls published in marketing materials. The fire rating of 1550 degrees Fahrenheit is nothing more than the known maximum temperature of a domestic fire that does not involve gasoline and diesel. Anything hotter is caused by a fire involving gasoline and/or these boosters, e.g. B. in cars, ships and tankers, or in an oil refinery where temperatures can exceed 1700 degrees Fahrenheit in the first hour in the vicinity of the booster. I mention 1700 degrees Fahrenheit because some vendors say so in their literature. The next is flood protection (immersion in water). Flood (rain) protection requires each hole to be sealed with a rubber grommet and marine grade silicone grease tested to a specified depth, which I assure you is not normally done, as I attest with subsea systems. deployed in the ocean by the US Navy and oceanographic research groups such as Woods Hall on the East Coast and Scripps on the US West Coast. worked as a process control engineer and mainly performed destructive testing related to flood, fire, shock and vibration and explosion of prototype instruments and systems to verify engineering specifications against various commercial, government and military specifications and requirements used in extremely hazardous environments such as nuclear power plants and power plants, refineries, distilleries, mills, US Navy ships and submarines. After that I was an environmental systems engineer and for the last 35 years I have worked for the Ministry of Navy on various ship systems related to energy, weather and physical oceanographic systems operating in sea depths of up to 10,000 meters. However, the internal measurements of this box are inaccurate for depth, it is exactly 8-1/2 inches at the bottom and increases slightly as it rises, the sides slope down about 5-10 degrees. To accommodate my needs, I purchased Acordian Lever Arch Files from Walmart and trimmed the open ends to exactly 8-1/2 inches. If you want -1/2 for 11 documents in file folders, that's your only choice for this field. It is not recommended to put documents in the box, as it may cause jams and damage the flood protection.
