Pyrex is my choice so I checked Amazon to see if I could get free shipping after my roommate broke my other one. not because it was poor quality, but because of the main rule of glass: if the casserole dish is hot, it must be transferred to a cloth/cool plate and not directly to a hard surface. We hope that knowing this tip will save some of you from injury/broken glass/dirty cleaning. I thought it was common sense, but apparently common sense isn't common sense. Great deal on this item and I'm sure I'll have it for a while now that this roommate no longer lives with me. :)
