As much as I love street lights for their dramatic lighting and use in photography, I worry that they are essentially a candle on a timer. . I bought this backpack to add to my truck's emergency kit. These LED "flashlights" are actually eight individual blocks with an outer rubber coating. They appear strong, durable and work as intended. I was surprised by the variation in light, there are different emergency schemes. A single click of the power button toggles between different flashing/steady/dim light configurations. I was pleasantly surprised by the additional useful features that are included. Each unit has a fairly powerful magnet that sticks firmly to vehicles, a plastic hook for hanging, and a double-click flashlight in the center. These little guys will be a great addition to my kit, I hope I never need them! The only minus, each device requires 3 AAA batteries, which are NOT included. 3x8=24 batteries.
