The size chart and sizing options do not match exactly. I have a 7 month old kitten who weighs about 6 pounds but is 11 inches long. Her length was average in the size charts in the photos, but this chart lists a weight of 6.6 pounds; But the Amazon sizing options say the average weight is 6-8 pounds. I chose medium, had to go with small. Its length is suitable but it's too loose, I wish it had a thunder shirt-like closure that could choose different densities to accommodate different weights, but it only has a velcro closure. She figured out how to drag herself across the ground until her front legs came out, and from there she was able to run away. I mean it's cute and as a vet tech I've found it less traumatic than e-collars but if it doesn't fit you've wasted your time and money!
