Review on Yamaha A-S301BL Integrated Stereo Amplifier - Enhanced Natural Sound | Black by Korakod Khun-avut ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The purchase was not entirely successful, there were minor problems in use.

The choice fell on this model, because I wanted to switch from the cinema to stereo. We needed an optical input - a computer source and an output to the sub. In my cinema, the RX-V750 receiver was used, so the choice fell on the Yamaha. Although, there were offers from other companies with a similar set of switching and price category. The sound is completely arranged and everything is ok. And stereo and bass, and so on. Better than the receiver. In the review, there is a limit on the number of characters and therefore about the shortcomings: Knobs of all regulators with sharp edges. The volume knob is simply shocking. If you run your finger along the handle from the body to the front of the handle, you noticeably cling to the sharp edge at the end (or beginning))). It's not very pleasant to take her on. Well, figs with her, with this pen. Here I already got used to it, in a few months. Yes, and they can be replaced without problems or these can be turned. The handles are removed. But with the power button is more difficult. Square, sharp and non-removable. The finger constantly bumps into these sharp corners. Power button functionality. It is stupidly mechanical, has two positions: pressed and pressed - off / on. Let me remind you that there is a remote control in the kit and from it the VCL turns on and off perfectly. And for this inside there is a separate small transformer with a duty room and other electronics. What we do: We turn off the VCL from the remote control and to turn it on from the button. You need to depress this button and press again. Okay, it's not hard. But! If the VCL is off from the button. Can't turn it on from the remote. You need to stomp to the amp. What prevented the button from being fixed, with such support for the remote control . More shortcomings on the little things: The volume control is a bit tight at the beginning of the movement, as if stuck, but then turns smoothly. And so with every adjustment. The speakers are turned off when headphones are connected, despite the nearby switch, which can completely turn off the acoustics. There is an auto shut off. Yes, it works, but something is there after 8 hours . The effect is like turning off from the remote control. To turn it on again, you need to press the power button or the remote control.

Pros
  • Good sound. Quality stereo and bass. Optical input and subwoofer output. Ability to connect two pairs of speakers
Cons
  • Sharp edges of controls Power button functionality
