This is a huge improvement over the 16-50mm kit lens. Completely changes the image quality. The attached image is straight from the camera and converted to JPEG without any processing. Colour, sharpness and ISO performance are top notch. This is true Zeiss quality for consumer money, about 1/3 the cost of a comparable lens. Really small problem 1: the lens is big but not that fancy. In fact, it feels pretty good in the hand. Really small disadvantage 2: no image stabilization. This is not a problem for photos, there is already a stabilizer for videos. On 3/18/19 Sony released firmware update 3.21 for the a6000 which improves autofocus performance. If you want a wide-angle lens, you can hardly go wrong here.
