Misleading List, 3600MHz POST Issues

SEP 2021 UPDATE: (Note: This only applies if you have XMP/DOCP enabled. But why buy expensive RAM if you don't!) Well me have to agree with the highest rated comment on this product. This RAM is not designed to run on the 3600 CL18. While this has been working fine for me for about a year, I've been having constant issues with POST for the past few months. Not always, mind you, and they go away after a power cycle, but almost every time I've rebooted or woken up from hibernation, my motherboard hasn't posted with an orange LED. For ROG, this means a problem with the RAM. After trying a few things, I resorted to setting up a DOCP profile. Obviously the default is 3600CL18. I manually set it to 3200CL14. It's working fine for me now, I haven't had any issues with POST in the past week. (I see one or two a day on a typical week.) In theory, the 3200CL14 isn't much different from the 3600CL18. But the only reason I bought this RAM was to be able to run it at 3600MHz, which doesn't seem stable. So I can't recommend this set any more than it's reasonably priced. There are many other kits from well-known brands for the same price or less. Of course it works below 3600MHz, but this kit wasn't stable for me even at that speed. So it's fair to compare like with like. And when I compare it to the Corsair or G-Skill options, I would absolutely go for those instead. However, since I already have this kit, I'll leave it as it is, as the impact on performance of making it a little slower isn't very big. (Right now my biggest bottleneck is the GPU, followed by the CPU (only for certain games)!) I needed extra capacity for some of my workloads, but it was extremely difficult to find RAM within my budget that also ran at high frequency . (Which I wanted for my Ryzen 5 3600.) On my motherboard (Asus ROG B450-F) I made sure to have the xmp equivalent enabled so the RAM actually runs at 3600MHz. Otherwise, setup was easy (as with all RAMs). Here are the other system components: - ROG strix b450-f by Asus - MSI RX 5700 XT Evoke OC - AMD Ryzen 5 3600 - Decent airflow and cooling with Hyper 212 Black and multiple beQuiet fans in the P300A. For testing, I ran memory stability tests and periodic tests. Especially after another reviewer mentioned their benchmarks being so bad, I wanted to make sure I didn't have to replace those RAM sticks. Here's what I did: - I ran memtest86 for a few hours and after two runs it didn't report any errors. - I ran UserBenchmark which showed very good results. (UserRun - 25261753 if you're interested in watching it). This test shows how well your setup compares to the same components in other people's setups. So the CPU and GPU work as expected and the working memory "well above expectations". It doesn't identify the exact model so I suspect it's being compared to other RAM 32GB @ 3600. - Passmark reports that my system performs above average for similar components. - 3DMark Time Spy gives me a score of 8948 for the GPU and 7354 for the CPU. The overall score is 8666. The GPU is slightly below average for the RX 5700 XT, but the CPU is slightly above average for the 3600. 3DMark Fire Strike gives 26406 for the GPU, 19390 for the CPU, 9942 combined and 21646. This is normal for these Components - PCMark reports 6354, which is above average - Cinebench r20 scores 3617, which is above average for 3600 - Unigine Superposition scores 19336 in a 1080p environment, which is ok/slightly below average. Scale. The optimized Unigine Superposition 4k is 7058, which is a normal/low value for these components. In general, my system seems to be working fine. The CPU is slightly above average and the GPU is slightly below average. But that is probably due to the cheaper RX 5700 XT (MSI Evoke), which I got on offer. So I'm pretty sure the memory is working fine. In terms of aesthetics, I might prefer RGB, but the black circuit board really suits the motherboard I have. It looks sleek and blends in well with the rest of the system. Of course, it would look a little more polished with more body, but you're not paying for that here. :) Regarding the testing of other reviewers, I'm wondering if the particular kit they received was defective. I'm not sure if their results apply to all options here. Some other variables: - Maybe the 64GB kit is broken? "Perhaps your system is fast enough in other aspects for this bug to be caught?" Anyway, I don't know. I'm having trouble with my 32GB kit on my PC so I'm happy to recommend this kit if you have the same build as me. So this is the best RAM out there if you are looking for high speed 32GB kits. The only downside is that the CLS 18 is a bit large, but depending on your needs, it might be worth the trade-off for more capacity. It seems to work very well on my system and I am very happy with the purchase.
