Bought these to replace a popular pair of Thinsulate mittens that were beyond repair after a year of intense play. They work, but it's not the same pair we had before. Although they have a velcro strap that opens the mitten to slip it over timid, clumsy little hands, they don't open fully like the previous pair. It's frustrating for a child who works hard to be independent by struggling to get their hand in a mitten, and frustrating for parents because you know there are (there were) mittens that are all different leave them open so they fit easily!
