I bought these to use as a keychain. We have a spare set of car keys, garage remote, etc. and it was all too bulky for a regular key fob. So I only needed one, but in this case it worked fine. Not sure how it will delay opening and closing multiple times to store items for camping trips etc as I don't think they will last long - threading in and out. But these are just guesses (maybe they will be confirmed). My advice if you need them to hold something they work great. As a quick release I would look at something else.
