Review on WELDSAMURAI Welding Darkening View for Grinding by Anthony Hicks

I have a 15 year old (or so) professional automatic dark welding helmet and decided to order 3 new cheaper helmets from Revain to test. All 3 delivered a much better experience than my old $350 device! What I can't speak to (obviously) is the durability of the auto dimming features and the mud and sand resistance of the controls. This one, I call it the third of the three I just installed, is the smallest of the three. viewing window. What makes this helmet unique compared to the other two is the design of the helmet itself. This is a very snug fitting design that allows you to tuck your head into tighter spaces than the other two. It also features internal "potential switch" style adjustments instead of large external control knobs. Adjusting them requires removing gloves and a helmet, but adjustments are better protected from dirt and grit, as well as from bumps and accidental adjustment changes due to friction at the work area. The first thing you will notice if you are like me and based on the old style is "True Color". It takes me a while to realize I've gotten used to the greenish night vision look of my old mask. They don't look like what I'm used to at all. They offer 100 times better vision, both before and during the arc. All 3 I've ordered have this new style, true color and it's amazing and exactly what you want. I have no negative points to point out with this mask, I'm sure the viewport could be bigger. but it's good enough for most places to stick my head. I like internal control, I prefer it to external. Appearance is also pleasant, but external attractiveness does not play a major role for me. This is a tool for the job. It is beaten up and thrown in the garbage. The adjustability is all you need. You can switch to grind mode or dark tone mode to weld with your preferred technique. And you will be shocked how the picture provided looks like you are wearing sunglasses! No more weird green cast. To be honest I will never go back to my old welding mask. That changes life! From the 3 I've ordered I can say this will be my go-to welding helmet. I love the fit, I love the interior handling and I love the true color image. There's a bit of slack with the smaller viewport, but overall I think this is my winner.
