No instructions, took some fiddling to figure out how to put the batteries in. I had to twist the white cover slightly to loosen it, remove it, and then gently pry up the bottom to insert the batteries. It was easy to get together and walk. My first pair of coils was uncomfortable, I wasn't expecting the device to spin so damn fast. patience and practice. I learned to control speed by adjusting the force when pushing the button. I bought it because of the cheap price, I wasn't disappointed. It's a good size and feels good in the hand. Not for beginners hoping for instant results. Gave 4 stars
