The cable is the ideal solution for easier access to non-standard LAN ports: in my case, the LAN port on the laptop now runs straight along the case and does not protrude a few centimeters into my work area. The cable is thick and all components feel solid and well built. My only complaint is that my connector's shielding is so thick and stiff that the latch literally can't be pushed in: first I had to wedge a flathead screwdriver to loosen it, then use a knife to split the latch cover into the gap in the middle so that I was able to detach the cable without tools. Otherwise it is a perfect product.
