Works as intended - Camping

I am new to cycling. I drive a small car with a very large sunroof (no roof rack). My options were a suction cup mount or a hatchback strut. I chose this one. It works as intended. My procedure: - Clean the sunroof with Windex (remove pollen from the glass) - Attach the front mount (it takes about 1 minute to fully fix the suction cups) - Remove the tires from the bike. and put it in the back seat - put the bike on the roof and pray the forks hit the mount without missing or breaking my sunroof - tighten the quick release on the mount - put the sucker back under the rear wheel and attach the suction cup - buckle on the rear tire - buckle on petals. I put it on the passenger side and while driving I can see one of the plungers on the front stanchion (by looking up through the closed sunroof) to see if it's still engaged (no red line). I only rode a few kilometers with him on the roof. He's nervous about flying away, but as the effort goes on I'm getting more confident that he'll hold out. I also take it off when I drive and put it back on when I get back to my car. I don't want someone who knows what they are to rip them off my roof and go with them. Park your bike on it. If you loosen too much, the nut will break completely. For one person and a short car, this is a good solution. Of course, if you needed to transport two bikes, this wouldn't work. If our car was big, it would be difficult to align the forks with the bracket.
