Review on GIGABYTE GeForce Graphics WINDFORCE GV N3080GAMING by Wiktor Ambroziak ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I expected mediocre quality, but the product was pleasantly surprised.

The card was purchased from Ozon. Initially, for about a week, this video card did not give a signal via DisplayPort in the pcie x16 slot (the 1050TI video card worked in the same slot without problems), but at the same time it worked in the pcie x4 2.0 slot, which in practice terribly cut its performance, about 50%, and in some applications / games it's even worse. Already issued a return and was going to send it back to China, blaming the negligent seller, although by all indications the product was brand new, sealed. I carefully examined everything (as far as possible without opening) and did not find any traces of use. In short, no matter what I did, I could not get it to work in pcie x16. I rummaged through the entire Internet and tried a bunch of different things and dances from tambourines, but everything was in vain. As it usually happens, the solution lay on the surface, I just needed to "reset" the cmos battery, after which the video card immediately gave a signal, but after I went into the BIOS and set the necessary settings, including the XMP profile for the operational memory - the video card again refused to give a signal. After the next "reset" cmos, I did not go into the BIOS and everything works fine. I will test what exactly is the problem or other compatibility. It is possible to increase the bus frequency from stock 100mhz to 120mhz due to the inclusion of the xmp profile of the RAM, which leads to instability in the system (?). At the moment, the video card works perfectly and shows excellent performance, both in games and in other applications. The video card is surprisingly cold out of the box, the maximum temperature I've seen is 77c after several hours in the Heaven benchmark (preset ultra, aa x8, tessellation extreme, 1440p), which I think is very good. Already done undervolting (875mV at 1925Mgz purity) works stably, thereby further lowering the temperature by ~5-6 degrees and TDP from ~350 to ~300. The performance hit is almost negligible at 1440p.

Pros
  • Out of the box performance/overclocking, over 2Ghz core boost, rev 2.0 good thermal pads from the factory, Quiet in a well ventilated case. Two bios: hybrid when the coolers do not rotate in idle mode and OC.
Cons
  • Lack of warranty service. That is, in general. I contacted Gigabnte's eSupport and this is what they told me: "We do not have a global warranty for video cards and our local distributors are only responsible for the goods they imported. If you placed an order in USA / China / Germany, etc. ( example), the warranty is provided by the retailer in USA/China/Germany, etc. As soon as you need warranty support, you need to send the product back to USA/China/Germany, etc.".
