Review on Stainless Steel Coffee Container - Airtight Storage Canister with Measuring Scoop for Beans or Ground Coffee, CO2 Valve Filters, Date Tracker, eBook Included - Medium 16oz, Black by Joy Janes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

UPDATE: quality product.

UPDATED 9/27/2019: I have upgraded my rating from 4 to 5 stars after using the canister for a month. It's solidly built and keeps my coffee fresh! In addition, Star Coffee now offers replacement CO2 filters for purchase from the Revain store (https://www.amazon.com/Star-Coffee-Canisters-Airtight-replacement/dp/B07X235B43/ref=sr_1_157). ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've wanted to buy a coffee can for years. Although I buy ground beans, I mix batches to get a lower caffeine blend, and the old coffee can I used has started to go bad. It had good reviews so I decided to take a chance. As advertised, it comes in sealed packaging and contains a nice 2oz coffee. (1/8 pound) measure of coffee. When I ordered it I wasn't quite sure what the date indicator on the lid would mean, but figured it wouldn't hurt. I still feel the same way. I blend 24 ounces of coffee at a time and it doesn't take more than 2-3 weeks. Anyway, it doesn't hurt. Basically, I'm happy with the canister. I bought the gray model and I find it quite appealing. This is definitely a big step up from my coffee can! A minor disappointment: the canister pack was missing four additional CO2 filters, which should have been included in the box. I contacted the seller who responded quickly. Replacement CO2 filters don't appear to be sold yet, but plan to have them by the end of the year. However, the manufacturer has made a more than reasonable adjustment, and given that the filters only last about a year (maybe that's what the date dials mean?), I don't think this packaging quality control issue is a big deal. I've only been using the tin for about a week, quite happy with it and looking forward to fresher (er) coffee than my old tin.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • No paint required
