I bought this almost a year ago to start practicing oil painting techniques and to understand how oil paints work on canvas / what to do This is where I really got into oil painting. This is a great purchase for those who are hesitant to buy oil paints or for a beginner who is not yet ready to spend a lot on branded or professional quality paints. Since using this set I have switched to more expensive paints and have sold paintings. This is perfect for any artist interested in oil painting and I would highly recommend it as a gift. The tubes don't last very long when painting large pictures, but the pigmentation is really good for this price range. You can definitely dilute them slightly with Gamsol oil (my personal choice) while preserving the original shade. Anyway, for the price, it's fantastic.
