I recently converted my Anet A8 to a Bowden drive. Instead of wasting money on a real E3D v6 I bought it. I am very happy with the results I have received so far. This hot end works well. It heats up well and maintains a fairly constant temperature without insulation. The only issue I've had with this hot end is that for some reason when it gets hot I get a weird hot plastic smell. It doesn't smell like PLA, it smells like nylon. I've been trying to find the source of the smell but I'm not sure where it's coming from. It's not filament because the same smell occurs even if the filament is not loaded. Overall, this hot end performs well, keeping the temperature at a fairly constant point without the need for insulation. It was easy to mount on my Anet A8 with an optional printed mounting plate. This greatly reduced the weight of my X carriage which reduced the stress on the X stepper motor.
