Review on BESTEK 4000 Joules Surge Protector Power Strip - 2 USB Ports, 6ft Extension Cord, πŸ”Œ 10 AC Outlets, 15A, Desktop Charging Station - Large Plug Wide Spaced Outlet for Office, Dorm, Travel by Josh Koa

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bestek manufactures a durable and reliable product. I hope the joule estimate is correct.

Agree with the previous reviewer for the highest possible Joule rating (excluding $200 industrial gear) and 4000 Joule rating. I have no reason to doubt Bestek, but other imported electronics like walkie-talkies, batteries, and flashlights have been sold with grossly inflated specifications in terms of transmission distances, battery capacity in mAh, and lumens. Would like to hear from EE or anyone else what the maximum joule ratings possible are for consumer products under $100. This extension looks trustworthy. It is currently certified by ETL/Intertek (London) according to UL 1363, according to the case. . The Revain listing for Bestek extenders shows that they are FCC and ETL certified. From what I could find online, Intertek seems to be as reputable as UL. These power strips appear to be of the same quality as the high end Tripplite, Monster, APC, Kensington, Panamax, Belkin, and other surge protectors I've purchased over the years for computers and AV equipment, although I believe that most major brands have claimed the high quality. about 2100 joules. I have only positive impressions of Bestek products. Your Portable International Travel Converter has been fantastic for traveling in Asia. It saves space by combining 220 to 110 conversion, surge protection, and multiple outlets into one device, occupying only one outlet. Others on the same trip with cheap converters experienced a crisis. I trust Bestek with my energy sensitive goodies.

Pros
  • Surge Protector
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging
