Needs Improvement Priced at

I'm reluctant to give this book 3 stars because it has some good illustrations, but there are areas that could be improved, especially for the price. For anyone new to Colorit books it should be noted that this book is written by new management/production/artist and although the company name is the same this book will not be exactly the same as the first Blissful Scenes or other early Colorit books. My book was shipped in an envelope, not a box, and the bottom right corner of the hardcover was slightly bent. This resulted in a slight dog-earing of the sides. The book itself is warped, and I've been trying to smooth it out under weights for a while. My photo shows a curve as it's on the edge compared to the (original) bliss scenes. I think it was due to overzealous plastic packaging on the production line as the packaging was too tight at the bottom of the book. In this book, two artists are only represented by name. It's also the first book to have a logo (or artist?) in the lower left corner, but oddly not on every page. As for the unmarked pages, I have a question, is this the original new design or what? I'm all for giving credit to artists for their work, if people are happy to post their finished color pages on social media and it seems like the company is no longer caring about their artists to give them the credit they earn. You'll find an odd combination of scenes with people, sides with food, and sides showing you the close-up perspective. I don't like how they created the "this book belongs to whom" page which is the standard for colorit books. This has a design in an oval shape that runs through a series of perforations with colors that you need to color in between the spiral bindings. This is an automatic deduction from one star for me as the whole concept of the book layout is aimed at allowing people, right or left handed, to easily color in the book or remove the coloring page. The illustrations in this book are by new artists and Colorit: Please bring Stevan and Husby back! This book has many pages that look like a mess and make you guess what game it is while coloring others online asking for help! It's not relaxing! I don't like pages with close-ups, such as: Why do I want to color in a large wrist and hand with a coconut drink, or part of two legs in a hammock (especially when the next page has a hammock camp scene)? Very large food photos are also tedious - huge croissants and bread take up an entire page. It's nice to see more men and boys in the scenes, but I wish there were more ethnic people in the next few books. It will take some time to get used to the book as it has darker lines and landscape objects (leaves, mountains etc.) are often left to your imagination as you color them. I feel like it's more for markers than pencils. The opening message seems to indicate that there might be the possibility of other Blissful scenes, such as: B. a book or maybe a series. If so then there are areas that can be improved and hopefully they are listening to the feedback. There's a certain mass production feel to it at the moment which affects the quality that previous books haven't had and at the high price I wouldn't recommend and will continue to buy. Colorit needs to lower the price of the books, improve the quality of the products, and improve the artwork if they want to keep their longtime fans.
