Great Deal, Great Sketchbook

As someone who's constantly looking for the right sketchbook, I've learned what kind of paper I want. The paper seems to have two textures, the front being more smooth than the back. I found it perfect for alcohol markers, cause as you can see from the photos, it didn't bleed through to the next page no matter how much I layered (although I still recommend scrap paper just in case). There was some places where the marker ate at the paper, but that was with water-based markers. It really is best

Pros
  • Nice thick pages and well bound. The cover tears easily.
Cons
  • Binding could become loose over time

You get what you pay for

While the cover is sturdy, neither book is just right. Both have sections where the paper binding string is approximately 1/2 an inch into the page, One sketchbook has some dented pages in the back, but the other one wasn't cut right so the pages go past the cover on an angle. But for the price for 2 sketchbooks and the amount of pages is worth 3 star rating. If you're going to give as a gift, they may not be perfect but for a child, they may not care about the imperfections. Lastly it says…

Pros
  • These are quality books and I use them continuously.
Cons
  • The black on the covers peeled off while removing the stick-on labels. Very cheaply made books.

Good ratio. The quality is better than the price

14 bucks give or take. Sturdy hard cover. Decent quality paper. Good if I dare say so. Worth every penny. Cheapest option on Best Buy. Any lower and you would get garbage. I'm not Picasso, but I want to get better. I couldn't ruin this book even if I doodled horrible quality pictures on every paper, becuase thats what it's for. Great sketch book for beginners, and I dare say a pro would even find this handy for the price.

Pros
  • Great for on the go sketch
Cons
  • May not be available in all locations

A great sketchbook for artists!

I bought these sketchbooks to use different kinds of mediums: charcoal, watercolour, markers, etc. And this sketchbook is fantastic! Some tips for using them though: if you are going to use watercolours on this, just know that it will start to get some freckles. I personally dislike the freckles, but it doesn't appear too dark so I don't really mind. And when using markers, it will bleed to the other side of the paper, and will get on the paper behind it if you start to layer it. I suggest…

Pros
  • Perfect for pencil, graphite, charcoal, and pens, making it versatile for different drawing styles
Cons
  • Pens may require additional drying time on pages

Seams fall off quick

I purchased the 3 pack mainly for the price. My daughter loves to draw and although I did see bad reviews, I thought maybe I'd get lucky. We haven't had this for even 24 hours and about 3 pages in that the papers started to loosen. I can't imagine these sketchbooks staying intact for much longer. She carries a big sketch pad everywhere, sad to say this one won't be a travel book as originally intended. Sometimes, it's worth spending more money. I won't be purchasing these again.

Pros
  • It personally is to small for me. But its was easy to return
Cons
  • Only one out of two books showed. And the bind in the spine of the book is flimsy.

Don't peel the label

I intended for this gift to be a way for a 12yo aspiring artist to escape. Her life has been more tragic than most adults I know! As an artist myself, I encourage creativity where we can create our own world. A peaceful place away from life's sorrow and hurt. All that aside, I wrote inspirational quotes on the inside cover and when i went to peel the label off IT RIPPED THE COVER! TERRIBLE

Pros
  • I just bought more. Does not leak through with calligraphy pens. Nice paper quality. Great size.
Cons
  • Will fall apart easily. Paper is too thin in my opinion

Removing Label Defaces the Cover

I get that these aren't expensive sketchbooks. But I don't expect that removing the label from the cover will tear off a patch of the cover that's about 90% of the size of the label. The sketchbook is still usable, yes, but the cover is unsightly and the problem was preventable. There are labels available with glue that's less sticky; if one of those had been used, this wouldn't be a problem.Or, the three sketchbooks are sold as a shrinkwrapped set. Stick the label to the outside of the…

Pros
  • Good binding. Have needed to rip out a few mistakes I’ve made and the binding has stayed strong.
Cons
  • Pages may be too thin and bleed through

You get what you pay for

Flimsy cover and binding. On first use I noticed the "hard" covers seemed a little warped and the pages don't lay flat. Almost as if they had been exposed to moisture or something. Paper just seems like cheap copy paper. But it serves my purpose- I just needed some inexpensive practice sketch pads and that's what these are. They'll do for my needs. If you're looking for real drawing paper with a sturdy binding and hard covers that will stand the test of time, these may not be for you.

Pros
  • This was a great deal for the money
Cons
  • They wasn’t as big as I anticipated and when you rip a page out it rips some more out with it

Don't waste your money, cheap/poorly made

I bought these for my daughter so she could sketch/draw while on the go. When carefully peeling off the label the cover started to come up. Also when you open the books the covers (front and back insides) are poorly adhered. Overall it's a poorly made sketchbook. I would steer clear of these and save your money and buy something a bit more expensive. It was my bad for not reading the reviews that state this happening since it was rated so high, so don't make the same mistake as me. Though I am…

Pros
  • Great price for two books, the book, and papers were really great quality!!
Cons
  • Hardcover may crack or break with extended use

Great Value in my review

These little 4x6 sketchbooks are perfect for my journaling uses!Just an FYI for those of you looking to purchase these, when I received mine the covers were glued on kind of lopsided and would not have held up well. I didn't want the covers though, so I tore them off and recovered them in cotton calico fabrics I have. It worked wonderfully and now I have a beautiful little set of calico diaries! The paper is so creamy and smooth, perfect for writing with papermate flair pens, ballpoints…

Pros
  • Sturdy
Cons
  • Pages may not be acid-free and damage artwork over time

Not as good as the ones from Hobby Lobby

These are as advertised. But - REMOVING STICKER DAMAGED THE COVER.Paper is thinner than I thought it would be, but thick enough that micro pens don't show through. I won't even try watercolor as I can on the Master's Touch brand (which is 80lbs)I failed to notice the logo would be embossed on the back page. Don't care for that.Three stars because they are what they claimed, but not what I'd expected. Sticker damage . I won't buy them again, and will recover myself.

Pros
  • As birthday gift, granddaughter loves it!
Cons
  • Could be too expensive for some budgets

Revainrating 4 out of 5

You can definitely draw in it.

Poorly made. Cover feels like it’s going to rip off if not held properly. Similar issues with both books, the video is of the book I thought was worse.

Pros
  • Good value
Cons
  • May not work for all artistic mediums

First off, this is my absolute favorite sketchbook, the one I will swear by. Second off, I'm extremely picky when it comes to paper type. I do traditional commissions at conventions so paper type is extremely important when it comes to the tools I use. The paper has to be WHITE, not yellow or beige (ew ugly); it also has to withstand my Micron pens and Prismacolor Jet Black marker. And this little book does the job! The paper is really absorbent of marker, so there's no ink/marker smudging when

Pros
  • Provides a professional, polished appearance for portfolio or presentation purposes
Cons
  • Pages may be too thin and easily wrinkle or tear

Fine but Not Great - my new review

Okay for price but if you want higher quality paper then you must pay more and buy a well known brand like Canson or such.1. Paper weight is light in comparison to competitors.2. Construction of book is questionable. Will likely not hold up from frequent use and traveling in your bag.3. Shrink wrap bundled in a set of 3 but allows for easy damage of corners and binding during shipping.4. Obnoxious and large cheesy log on the back. Why would a customer want a large gold logo on the back that…

Pros
  • The blank pages allow for complete creative freedom
Cons
  • May not be durable enough for outdoor sketching or traveling

Great value and great quality

I just received the sketchbooks. Very pleased by the quality of the hardcover and weight of the paper. Will definitely buy this again.

Pros
  • This product was better than I expected for a scetch pad. Great deal
Cons
  • Could be too small for larger sketches or drawings

Beginners sketchbook or journal

Great value, the spin separated from the cover. I taped it back. It’s great for color/pencil sketches and I have various types and brands or marker/pens almost all bleed through. For the price it’s not bad for beginner sketchbook/journal.

Pros
  • Each book has 110 sheets, providing plenty of space for drawings
Cons
  • Hardcover may not fit into standard bookshelves or storage

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good product but.

This product was amazing. My daughter loved it, although the spine of the book ripped and although it didn’t affect the book it was still well made!

Pros
  • Art Paper
Cons
  • May not have enough pages for frequent use

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great deal good for me

It was cheap and came on time. I really enjoy hardcover sketchbook, and this one was nearly identical to my previous one I got at the art store. Great for sketching and inking, would not recomend this for anything wet though.

Pros
  • A little smaller than I thought it was going to be
Cons
  • Hardcover may limit range of motion while sketching

Beautiful Sketchbook or Journal for a Low Price.

I adore this sketchbook, journal. The pages are very thick and those that like bullet journaling would probably be pleased with this item. I liked it so much I bought two more for a loved one.

Pros
  • Ideal for art classes, workshops, or group projects
Cons
  • May not have enough variety in cover designs

Revainrating 3 out of 5

WAY SMALLER THAN EXPECTED

lots of good quality pages, but they are SSOOOO small! We payed $25 with tax and shipping for 3 tiny sketch pads. not worth it!

Pros
  • They are not pretty, but they are good.
Cons
  • Pages may yellow or fade over time
