This mirror is normal. I'm pretty easy to please, but it looks like this thing was assembled in a garage by a retiree who doesn't own cars, but still makes it work. The lighting system on the back needs some tidying up as it's not as smooth as it could be. This mirror comes with a French rod hanger but the cord to the light is so protruding that you have to fiddle with the wire to get the mirror to sit almost flat. That's the back, now let's talk about the front. The buttons are on the front of the mirror. Dead center from side to side and down in the lower half of the mirror. They are easy. They don't disappear unless you touch the mirror. It just seems like a downside to me. If I put the buttons on the front would they be on the bottom or on the side.
