So far, so good! - Sticky Plasters

UPDATE: Today is June 12th and these plasters have improved the discoloration a bit. The large stain on my shoulder is still discolored in the photo, but not as much as in this photo. I also have another patch on the back of my other shoulder that has lost melanin due to skin stretching and is no longer a white discoloration. My skin has started to reproduce some color and looks a bit normal now! I had this on April 27. As a teenager I had several sebaceous cysts "removed" in my shoulders (3-4 on each shoulder) and each of them turned into keloid scars. They are my biggest insecurities, they are very dark and well behaved. I visit my doctor every few months for a steroid injection to flatten them, which helps, but flattening actually causes the skin around them to stretch and turn white. I have a medium to deep skin tone so this is even more noticeable than before. I have tried many scar creams/gels and they are so expensive that last summer I tried looking for silicone sheets which resulted in me buying Aoromas which were expensive and don't make many sheets. They are quite thick and just roll up like crazy, they don't last long and I can never lie down or sleep with them or they get tangled in my hair and fall off. So I saw them and for the price I figured if they suck, at least it's not as expensive as buying sheets. But so far they work very well! They managed to stay on my skin for 3 days with a bit of peeling around the corners and they really stick and suck on the skin and you don't even feel them. No sleep problems, when I wake up they are intact. I took them off to shower today and they left little bruises or something under the skin that has lost its color from flattening. I don't know what that means, good or bad, but here's how well it sticks to the skin. One of the scars on my back/shoulder raised a little and became irritated and after removing the silicone to shower I noticed the scar was much flatter than it was before application. I'm hoping to see a big difference in the next few weeks or months, but I'll update when I do!
