For the amount of light they put out, they're cute little bulbs. These are not studio lights although they are meant to appear as they are. They would probably be most useful for people shooting stationary subjects like auction items up close with a tripod, using slow shutter speeds and narrow apertures for good depth of field. I'm attaching a few photos that may help you estimate the lighting conditions. For the pumpkin shot, both lights were only 24 inches from the pumpkin. The exposure was f/22 for 1 second. I plan to use these lights as fill, back and hair lights for a studio portrait shoot where the main light is natural light from a window. I will also use them for food photography. Low light conditions with barn doors can help if you understand your needs.
