Thing works. But two questions. First, he rarely turns off the fan. I can hear the compressor running as it hits the humidity set point, but only occasionally does the fan turn on. That seems strange. Also, it got very noisy after a few months. This is the vibrating sound that occurs when the compressor turns on. I've tried tightening the case screws but that doesn't help. Something is vibrating inside and I really don't want to spend hours tinkering with a practically new device. But it may have to. It's really uncomfortably loud compared to when it was brand new. Edit - downgrading to 2 stars, it keeps getting louder when I try to see if I can get a warranty replacement even though the web form says 'model not found'.
