Very Inconvenient: Safety

At the beginning of the pandemic, I found an open box in my basement of regular N-95 masks that I used for chores like sanding wood you don't want to breathe in. I've used a combination of these and sheet masks over the summer as I only go out when necessary. But the ones I had eventually ran out and I tried to buy them as they were reasonably cheap and now that winter has come the incidence of the coronavirus has skyrocketed. I needed extra protection over the sheet masks which were fine in the summer. Well I put this mask on for a few hours this weekend for the first time and oh my god it was so uncomfortable. I'm a 5'4" woman with an average head size, but it still felt so snug to me. I couldn't wear ear straps because they pulled my ears down uncomfortably, so I had to wear them over my head. my head which made my hair look awful. To no avail I know but with the regular N-95s I had I could tuck the straps behind my ears and pull my hair over them so I looked reasonably normal at the grocery store. I could hardly breathe in these masks. The tent nose design was too tight on top of my nose. I tried adjusting it in a million different positions and found the best I could do was pull it up so the top was right.under my eyes and my nose was mostly in the middle but it was still hard to breathe. At first I had to breathe through my mouth but over time I got used to it and through di e nose breathed but uh they were seriously uncomfortable My husband who has a really big head (he has to buy big hats) really hated wearing it. stood in it for hours and was happy with the added protection but would definitely prefer better options if they were available and affordable.
