Review on πŸ’ͺ Double-Sided Waterproof Neodymium Power Magnets by Ryan Lawson

They are not waterproof, the epoxy is applied incorrectly

Let's get straight to the point, you buy epoxy coated rare earth magnets because you want strong magnets but they need to be coated in order to use them there, where moisture is present is present. because otherwise they will rust. Ceramic magnets don't rust, but aren't as strong. In this pack of 12 magnets, each magnet had one or more pinhole sized areas that were missing the epoxy coating. This is due to improper application of the epoxy or incomplete degreasing of the magnet prior to coating. This causes these magnets to rust. Since the uncoated areas are tiny (like pin pricks), it takes a while, but they're guaranteed to rust. You won't notice it at first, but the rust will start and move under the epoxy. If only one or two magnets have this defect, ok, for the price skip it, but every magnet has a defect and it's not much cheaper than other companies that supply magnets with a perfect coating. In fact, a well-known magnet manufacturer is selling their defective epoxy coated pinhole magnets at a lower price. They are advertised as waterproof when in fact they are not. If your application is not critical or rusting is not a problem after a while, this is acceptable. If you decide to repaint them yourself and then save money and buy uncoated magnets and then degrease them properly and apply epoxy you will save some money as you won't have to do what the seller should have done before shipping. Considering each magnet has a flaw in the plating which leads me to believe they are just that processed and not a bad example.
