Review on 🏝️ Hodedah Beech Kitchen Island: Spice Rack, Towel Rack & Drawer - A Must-Have for Your Kitchen! by Rachel Marie

Not as bad as they say

I almost bought this item based on the reviews. To be honest, if you don't have someone handy to help you assemble it, I'd skip it and buy something more expensive and of better quality. Luckily my husband is very good at Chinese furniture! It wasn't difficult to assemble, but there were parts where the holes didn't match. I had to improvise and supplement in places. There were also parts that were supposed to be "hidden" but were also misaligned (see photos for reference). Attention was paid to every detail and my husband was able to put it together in a couple of hours. Another warning I have is that the back of the island is cardboard. Since our cooker was in the middle of the kitchen and not against the wall, I didn't want the ugly cardboard backing taped with tape to show, so we flipped it over and put the white part on the outside instead. In any case, no one will see the interior of the island except me, so I didn't care. Something they definitely need to do, I think, is make both sides white. It is also in two parts. You should make it tight so you don't have to glue the centers together, just nail the whole piece. Overall I'm happy with it for the price. Is this the best quality? Absolutely not. But I needed extra space and storage and this works well for that. It's nice to have extra space for cutting or placing bowls while cooking. Remember this is pressed wood. It cannot withstand water for long. In one of the photos you can see the color of the "wood" fading where the water has been on the surface for too long. If you only need it for storage, it will probably last you a long time. With wheels, the island is a normal height for me (I'm 5ft 3in).
