I bought one at Walmart and it didn't work properly (I don't remember the exact problem) but I was able to return it to the store for a second one. However, the new one was just as bad as the first: it never focused properly and was always out of focus. I tried to return it to the store but the second one was not taken back. The information on the camera packaging states that you should call a specific 800 number and not attempt to return it to the store. I have tried this number several times and they keep you forever and then disconnect. The 1 year guarantee states that you must find the nearest Vivitar service center on the website and send the camera there with all packing materials and the receipt. But there is no on-site service center! However, I was able to email them from there. Let's see if I get an answer. Then I searched the internet for these "Avalonian" service centers - but they all search - and none find them. So I came to the conclusion that this company produces crappy junk and fake guarantees. I will never buy a Vivitar product again and as they are associated with Crayola Crayons I have good intentions to boycott Crayola.
