I just got a new graphics card and it's so massive that the fan cover was pressing against the front USB 3 header/cable on my motherboard. This cable seemed perfect. I might plug it in and bend it so the graphics card doesn't put pressure on it. I took the cable, took out the graphics card, connected this cable and connected the connection cable to it. It wasn't until later that night that I was working on the PC and plugged the USB drive into my front ports and it took a minute for Windows to recognize the USB drive and then tell me that the USB drive was not recognized. At first I thought my USB drive was broken, so I plugged it straight into the back. motherboard and it works great. That reminds me that I put this extension in the front connector. I removed it and reinserted the front USB and my USB drive is working great again. I don't know if the cable is defective or because it's so cheap, but it doesn't work for me. I'm too lazy to send it back, so this one in the trash
