I ordered this device to use with my new MacBook Pro because I didn't have many USB-C cables and wanted to use my previous USB cables. As shown in the marketing photo, the device mounts to the side of the MBP and provides connectivity for legacy USB and SD card connection cables. The device fits snugly and attaches to either side of the computer and includes a small LED to indicate when the device has power. The device matches the MacBook Pro in finish and color and works well. All device connections on it worked for me and allowed my old cables to be used. The only downside I've found with this machine is that the connection between it and the MacBook Pro doesn't seem as solid as it could be, and I always worry when the computer doesn't lay flat on one table (let's say he's balancing on my lap). ) and if something hits the HyperDrive from above, the entire device can bend on both the device and the MacBook Pro. This may be an undue concern, but since the device is on the side of the computer and has no support underneath, it continues to worry me a bit. Long term use aside, the device works great and looks like a good buy.
