Review on πŸ”Œ Male to Female 4mm Banana Plug Jack Extension for Meter Testing - Heavy Duty Silicone Wire Leads, Multimeter Probes Adapter - 14AWG (1 pair, 39.4") by Chris Hart

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Terrible quality control, bad cable in first set, bad cable in replacement set

Pictures: A correct zero ohm measurement without touching the cable, a crazy measurement just turn on the light on the side pressure on the connector. Measurements are always accurate without extensions. Product: Test lead extension from plug to socket. (approx. 1m, with 4mm banana plugs) Pros: 4mm banana plugs (male/female) and silicone around the cable of good or even excellent quality, feels as good as the cables used with my multimeter to be delivered. The price was pretty good too. Cons: Both plug and socket are straight plugs, for my particular needs it would be great if the plug was at a 90 degree angle, but I knew exactly what I was getting from the pictures, so no ringing here. UGROGNY: The first set I ordered came with a faulty positive (red) wire, everything was fine when I tested them with a low voltage circuit from an electric piano. But I started getting unexpected resistance/voltage readings when I was under a car with the meter in different positions or touching different components in the car's engine bay. Further testing showed that touching, tapping, slightly bending or stretching the red wire near the connector can cause the actual wire inside it to become partially or fully detached, typical of old, overheated or stretched wires or initial soldering . Connection performance wasn't very good, which I think was the case here as well. I figured partial bad soldering happened to the best of us so thanks to Revain for a very easy return process I ordered a replacement which was shipped quickly within a few days. To my surprise, the black wire in the replacement kit (again) has the same problem on the male side, although this one is even worse because it doesn't fail completely, just gives poor readings (mostly in ohms). Needless to say, I asked for a refund and will never look back at products from this brand (Bei Qian). I'm sure others have had better luck with this product than I have, but as far as I'm concerned I would never trust any action taken with these cables for anything critical or precision requiring.

  • Best in its niche

  • Some little things
