When I personally held one of these just prior to this purchase, the feature that ultimately drew me in was the quality of the Guard Latch Lever. It was the very machine and finished part, and its hardness screamed quality. This tool had a cheap stamped plated metal lever when it arrived in place of this lever. That bothered me so much that I ordered a replacement from the factory and replaced it myself. In this example, I didn't even see the part number for the cheap alternative lever. I have no other indications that would lead me to believe this is a complete fake but this experience did not inspire confidence and was a costly hassle. The rest of the mill works very well.
