Does the OBT cut corners?

In 2011 I bought Kiburi sandals in a deep chocolate brown and LOVED them. I have mild scoliosis and have found that I can get up and walk all day...pain free! Also, the rich chocolate brown color was great for both outerwear and underwear. But then I found out that MBT went bankrupt in 2012 and couldn't buy shoes anymore... my heart sank. A few years later I asked The Walking Store in Waikoloa, Hawaii if they had any, but heard no news. They knew nothing. Then I went online and, to my surprise, learned that Andy Chow had saved Karl Muller's shoe technology. So I immediately bought hiking shoes and sandals (from the MBT website). But I had to return the Lila 6 Sport Sandal (Black/Charcoal Grey) because the bottom right strap of the sandal was 1 inch longer than it should have been. Yes, ONE INCH longer! I even took a picture because I couldn't believe it. With expensive sandals, this surprised me a lot. I tried to buy another pair but MBT didn't have another pair in my size. So I bought the same sandals from Revain. And this time, BOTH are the correct sandals, the bottom and top straps are 1/2" longer than they should be! How can two back-to-back pairs I bought have almost the same manufacturing defect? I wanted to buy dark blue sandals too, but I did too scared now. As I understand it I had to cut corners to save the MBT engineering. But for the price and the wonderful technology of MBT it is unacceptable to have a sandal with such a permanent manufacturing defect. I am writing because i really need mbt shoe technology and i hope someone who can fix manufacturing defect please get this email because i am not sure if i will be buying more mbts as it looks like i will too many corners have been trimmed.
